We would like to recognize our annual forestry today at the legislature today. Forestry Of course it's one of the backbone industries of North Carolina especially the south east. We are very very honored to have with us today members of the North Carolina Forestry Association which I know you will be recognizing momentarily. That organisation was founded in 1911 with over 4000 members and one of the oldest organisations Of it's type in North Carolina. They in North Carolina there's eighteen million, six hundred thousand of forest land covering 60% of our estate, of which is 85% privately owned. This a 127,800 jobs with a payroll of Six billion, 29 million dollars. But the most powerful fact that I wanna bring to this body attention today, is the fact that the forest products industry export, is the largest export of any industry in North Carolina with value of 13 billion, 700 Million dollars. Now ladies and gentlemen, forestry is active and well in our state we have a grand, grand opportunity here to continue support it. We have many opportunities to make things positively happen for those that own trees and the forestry operation throughout Of the state as well as the manufacturers, the land owners, the loggers, the timber buyers and everybody in between. But I just wanna recognize our forest products industry here today as we have forest today at the legislature and I thank everybody for participating with it earlier so much and being with us today. Right North Carolina, number one in the Nation tied with all Rich Texas as the most business friendly and economically welcoming state based on our tax legislation and various other factors, but being right at number one I don't remember us ever being right number one, I know there were times when Hall would speak of two or three or four or top ten but I thought that was worth noting so if you believe in the account on comeback you can say hey let me in if you know, if you believe it was an accident you can say well that just happened but however senator Howard however it's there for the record, thank you. >> Do you have any other notices or announcements? Any further business come forward the senate if not the chair recognize center pay promotion. >> Mr. President. >> Senator Godel for the purpose of your rise. >> Thank you Mr. president. >> Senator Godel do you, moment of personal privilege. >> No I'm not person pressing forward Senator. >> Mr. President as we adjourn today I respect for the as, that you call the adjournment of today's session in honor of and appreciation of all the dedicated teachers in this great state of North Carolina and then we go forth in a contended effort to provide them By them with the respect and the support that is worthy of this great profession. Senatorial statement recognize in all teachers on National teacher day where where as teachers, mold future citizens whose guidance and education while serving us listeners explore role models, motivators and mentors. And whereas teacher encounter students then why different backgrounds and work diligently to help them learn and impact their lives and their families In the ways that often extend beyond the classroom whereas people in the United States began celebrating on National Teachers day in 1953,Eleanor Roosevelt persuaded congress to set up such a day to recognize educators. And whereas the origin and the idea for national day to our teachers are unclear, some references cite the advocacy of a west constant teacher. And other references quite at the effort of the teacher in Arkansas for being the first to advocate establishing a teacher appreciation day and whereas congress declared March, 7 1980 as National Teacher Appreciation Day, whereas the National education accountant in EA need to in sincerely observe professional Teacher Appreciation Day until 1985 when a International teacher, parent teacher association designated a full week of May as teacher appreciation week and then voted the following year to make Tuesday of that week National Teacher Day, Whereas doing an observance of National Teacher Day is fitting to reflect upon the life long lesson learned from our teachers. of National Teacher Day, May 3rd 2016 and throughout the year. And witness whereof the under-science/g certifies that the foregone statement was read and the senate placed on the journal on the third day of May 2016 Senator Smith Ingram and senator Vendi [BLANK_AUDIO] Senatorial statement recognizing annual Forestry day at the legislator, whereas North Carolina is known as the birthplace of American Forest be due to some early forestry pioneers and their practices. Whereas in 1892 Gifford Pinchot became the first systematic fossil work in the United States at Baltimore the estate of Joy W Banville in North Carolina where as in 1898 Carl Shrink established to build more off the school in Transylvanian county, for a school of this kind in the United States whereas the North Carolina part of the association NCFA established in 1911 that states all of this force conservation organisation and this comprise of 4,000 members and whereas in the CFA promotes responsible use and management in the United States part and whereas North Carolina on 186 million acres of poached free land covers 60% of the state of which 85% is privately owned. And where then first products industry is the states largest manufacturing industry probably more than 70,000 in North Carolina with an annual payroll of more than 3 billion and whereas according to the most recent data collected in North Carolina cooperative extension, the Farmers based sector combined with the fourth products industry had to throw economic constitution The state economy up to $24.7 billion in output and supported more than 127,000 jobs with a payroll of $6.29 billion. And where the fourth products industry provided jobs in the state on our counties providing Providing a significant impact on the state and economy. And whereas in 2013 North Carolina exported forest products that were valued at $13.7 billion and whereas the practice so forestry has promoted goodfoot pincer/g, car Those who follow protects, preserve and promote not only forest but water quality, recreation, wildlife, fertile soil and esthetics. Whereas the value inherent in the [UNKNOWN] forest partners/g or realize not only in economic term but in the preservation of the priceless natural resources that are both are common heritage in our legacy. Now therefore it's important to recognize the significance of our forest to the state economy and to our way of life and pay tribute to the early pioneers forestry. And witness where of the other sign satisfy that the four gone statement was right in the senate and placed upon the job on the third day of May 2016, submit it past senator [INAUDIBLE] sure line press for clerk.
